About ten years ago I made the switch from downtown core living to suburban living. Since then I've had three kids, gave up my career, added a puppy to the mix and drive a minivan. It's been a pretty big transition, but I absolutely love the lifestyle that my family and I have created.
However, I will say that I do miss being able to walk everywhere and having cute shops right at my doorstep. With such a busy family life, I don't always have time to make it out to weekend markets or to specialty shops 30 minutes away. Which is what inspired me to create The Suburban Edit.
Being surrounded by big box stores has its conveniences for sure, but it also leaves a lot to be desired. There's just something special about local and handmade goods. These items are made with so much love and passion, you definitely can't find that in standard suburban retail.
I wanted to create a shop where we can bring the local scene across the country to one simple place. Gathering the very best, deeply loved products that everyday people are working so hard to create. So if you need to curate a super cute gift basket for a baby shower, or want to give a birthday present that was made with intention, this is the place for you.
Welcome to The Suburban Edit.
